Non-destructive Testing

Fig.1 Non-destructive testing services.

Services and products in advanced materials addressing high technological complexity are provided by CD BioSciences-Advanced Materials. The non-destructive testing methods we employ are invaluable techniques in ensuring materials re-engineered are without damage, they precisely locate internal and external flaws. Selected advanced inspection methods help our clients maximize alternative solutions for the material design and/or development stage, optimize processes in the course of manufacture, and perform final inspections for product integrity.

Why Non-destructive Testing?

Non-destructive testing refers to the approach of inspecting and testing the structure, nature, and state of the internal or surface of the object to be tested without harming it. It is one of the most important courses of action in ensuring the quality and safety of the products and the projects.

  • Quality Assurance: The existence of NDT machinery in advanced manufacturing aids in determining compliance of those advanced materials with set standards.
  • Structural Integrity Assessment: A regular NDT procedure is the instrument for determining the structural competency of components in critical such components in aerospace and automotive applications.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Inserting NDT into maintenance schedules aids in detecting evidence of failure early enough and therefore prolongs the lifespan of the materials.
  • Repair Verification: It is ensured that no new defects have been initiated and that the integrity of the advanced material remains intact, by NDT after the equipment has been repaired or modified.

Our Services

Covering a vast array of inspection and test requirements, our NDT services include inspection of metals and composites, ensuring the certified quality and safety of materials used in environmental, energy, high-end electronics, aerospace, automobile manufacturing, architecture, and engineering.

Fig.2 Our ultrasonic testing services.

Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

We use high-frequency sound waves to detect internal defects and assess material thickness, ensuring structural integrity without damaging the material.

Fig.3 Our radiographic testing services.

Radiographic Testing (RT)

We use X-rays or gamma rays to examine the internal structure of materials, revealing defects such as cracks or voids in welds and castings.

Fig.4 Our magnetoparticle testing services.

Magnetoparticle Testing (MT)

We assess surface and near-surface defects in materials by using the properties of magnetic materials in terms of the distribution of lines of force in a magnetic field.

Fig.5 Our penetrant testing services.

Penetrant Testing (PT)

We use the principle of capillary phenomenon to detect surface opening defects in non-porous materials. The method is fast, simple and intuitive.

Fig.6 Our eddy current testing services.

Eddy Current Testing (ECT)

We use electromagnetic induction to detect surface and near-surface defects in electrically conductive materials and are suited for assessing the integrity of coatings.

Fig.7 Our thermal graphic testing services.

Thermal Graphic Testing (TG)

By detecting the distribution of thermal radiation on the surface of a material, we assess the thermal properties and defects of the material.

Fig.8 Our laser scatter testing services.

Laser Scatter Testing (LST)

We assess surface and subsurface defects in materials by using changes in the scattering pattern produced by laser irradiation of the material surface.

Fig.9 Our digital image correlation testing services.

Digital Image Correlation Testing (DIC)

By comparing digital images at different points in time, we assess the deformation and damage condition of the material.
