Life Cycle Assessment Service

Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a full-cycle environmental management process for products from raw material refining, pre-treatment, production, application, and recycling to final disposal and disposal. Through quantitative analysis and qualitative evaluation, the LCA service provided by CD BioSciences-GreenChemistry tracks the stages of a product's life cycle, obtains a general overview of relevant information, and provides complete and accurate information for the improvement of the product's manufacturing process

Introduction to Life Cycle Assessment

Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a comprehensive assessment of the resources, environment, economy, and technology of a substance, process, or product over the entire 'life' cycle, from generation to disposal and regeneration. The goal is to assess the environmental impacts of energy and material utilization, as well as waste emissions, to seek opportunities to improve environmental impacts

LCA focuses not only on the wastes emitted during the manufacturing process of the product but also takes into account the energy and substances consumed in the manufacture of raw materials, solvents, auxiliaries, etc., as well as the persistent toxicity, cumulative toxicity, and possible toxicity of degradation products in the environment after they are discarded

Our Professional Services

The LCA service provided by CD BioSciences-GreenChemistry is designed to help clients gain an in-depth understanding of the environmental performance of a chemical product or service throughout the life cycle so that they develop more environmentally friendly strategies

Workflow of LCA Service

Data Collection and Analysis

We utilize advanced technological means and expertise to comprehensively collect all types of data during the product life cycle, including but not limited to key indicators such as raw material use, energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption, etc. Based on the collected data, we develop a life cycle model of the product system, including all relevant life cycle stages and processes.

Life Cycle Effect Evaluation

We correlate the collected data to each process and functional unit in the life cycle model and perform calculations to derive product life cycle impact results. We select impact categories and category indicators based on the characteristics of the chemical product or production process and convert various emissions and resource consumption into common units of measurement under the corresponding impact categories.

Results and Interpretation

We summarize evaluation data and results and conduct consistency checks, sensitivity analyses, and uncertainty assessments to ensure the reliability and robustness of evaluation results. Based on the evaluation results, we make targeted recommendations for improvement to help clients optimize production processes and use of chemical substances to reduce environmental impacts.
