PCL-SS-mPEG
Catalog Number: | PCL-038 |
Description: | A disulfide bond is chemically a single covalent bond derived from binding a thiol. It is also known as a disulfide bond or bisulfide bridge and is used almost exclusively in the context of biochemistry. Its formal name should be persulfide, but it is rarely used. Similar to peroxides (R-0-0-R), its overall linkage is R-S-S-R. The sequential linkage of three sulfur atoms is sometimes referred to as a trisulfide bond, but is really just two disulfide bonds. The disulfide bond is in the fold look and stability possession of some proteins which are mostly secreted out. |
