Overview

• Cytarabine is a nucleoside analog that disrupts DNA synthesis by causing S-phase cell cycle arrest and inhibiting DNA polymerase. It has an IC₅₀ of 16 nM for DNA synthesis inhibition. Besides its anticancer properties, cytarabine also exhibits antiviral activity, particularly against herpes simplex virus (HSV) and orthopoxviruses.
