Description MTT is a dye that accepts hydrogen atoms and can be reduced to the water-insoluble dark purple crystalline product Formazan by mitochondrial succinate dehydrogenase in cell culture media in living cells, but dead cells cannot undergo this reduction reaction. MTT toxicity test kit dissolves the water-insoluble purple crystals produced by MTT with a specific solvent, and then determines the light absorbance value by using an enzyme marker near the wavelength of 570 nm (500-600 nm), which can reflect the number and metabolic vitality of the living cells, and consequently, the state of the cells, such as survival, proliferation, growth, toxicity, and so on.
